Outfit Lolita

Sweet Lolita

Sweet Lolita is heavily influenced by Rococo styles as well as Victorian and Edwardian clothing. Focusing on the child and fantasy aspects of Lolita, the Sweet Lolita style adopts the basic Lolita format and uses lighter colors and childlike pictures in its design. It is the most exaggerated style.

The outfits of Sweet Lolita is consisted of pastels, toys, fruit themes (cherries or strawberries, or any type of sugary fruit), flowers (roses, jasmines, lily, cherry blossoms) lace, bows, animal themes (cats, bunnies, puppies), cakes, candies, hearts, polka dots, ribbons, bows and ruffles to emphasize the cuteness of the design. Popular themes in the sweet Lolita are references to Alice in Wonderland, sweets, and classic fairy tales. Jewelry often reflects this fantasy theme.

The common colors used in a Sweet Lolita outfit are pink, white, and powder blue, but an outfit can be made with nearly any pastel or plaid (or nearly any color at all as long as it is not neon).

Light, natural make-up complements this style. Teased out pigtails and bouncy curls are commonly worn by Sweet Lolita.

Examples for Sweet Lolita brands are Angelic Pretty, Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and Metamorphose temps de fille. Emily Temple cute (sister brand of Shirley Temple, a Japanese boutique), Jane Marple, and MILK are brands that carry more clothing that would be considered more casual, and are available to purchase at department stores in Japan.

As far as the footwear is concerned, short-heeled shoes are commonly adapted. White knee-high socks are a must and the skirts are just long enough to the knee which is then taken over by socks, hence no skin or minimal skin is displayed. The color of shoes must match the rest parts of one’s Sweet Lolita outfit. This means that light colors that are not going to be too strong. White and pink shoes are by far the most common ones.

Bows can be used on the shoes. Bows will work as accessories that are used with the intention of making it look more appealing and innocent.

A Sweet Lolita should be someone who is going to have a pair of shoes that will not be too formal but rather fashionable and casual in appearance.

In terms of props, feminine objects like an umbrella emphasize the cuteness.

All in all, Sweet Lolita is suitable for lovely girls. It emphasizes casual and cute outfit. So it often does not appear in a formal occasion.
